This hand embroidered amulet invokes the Jewish name of G!d/dess that is "The Place" and reminds us to experience the Divine, even in the most unexpected places. It appears three times in the Torah, most famously in Genesis 28:16 when after wrestling the angel, Jacob calls out:
This particular shiviti was inspired by a friends request to explore this name and the colors of the ancient Mishkan, because in Exodus 25:8 we read,
The colors pull from the blue, scarlet, purple, "fresh linen," and gold that are the colors the Torah tells us were used in the creation of the Mishkan. The empty “crystal cage” is for you to fill. Be open and inspired. Leave yourself a note. Place stone or small object in it. Place a fresh flower and let it dry. Whatever offerings you are called to make that will help you create a sanctuary within yourself for the presence of the Divine.
